Boston, MA (June 2019) — Music & Youth Initiative is excited to announce that it has received a $2,500 grant from Reverb Gives, the charitable arm of Reverb.com, the online marketplace for musicians to buy, sell, and learn about new and used musical instruments. Thanks to Reverb Gives, Music & Youth will be able to put more instruments into the hands of youth in the Music Clubhouse program.
“We are honored to have been selected by Reverb Gives to receive this generous donation,” says Music & Youth CEO, Gary Eichhorn. “Reverb.com shares our core belief that young lives can be transformed through music. Providing youth with state-of-the-art equipment and the tools to make music is essential to the success of our Music Clubhouse programs. We are very grateful for the partnership and support from Reverb and its Reverb Gives initiative.”
With the funding from the Reverb Gives grant, Music & Youth will be able to help provide contemporary instruments and music production technology to its 18 Music Clubhouses in Massachusetts, Georgia, and Texas.
The relationship between the two organizations was established 2018, when Music & Youth received a generous $4,000 donation from Reverb Gives in partnership with Dave Grohl’s PLAY Project, which held an auction to benefit organizations that help young generations of musicians “just PLAY.”
“As musicians and music lovers, we intimately understand the impact that learning a musical instrument can have on a person. It can build confidence, ease pain, and so much more. Like Music & Youth, we understand what an incredible tool music can be when it comes to empowering young people, specifically,” said David Kalt, Founder & CEO at Reverb. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to play a part in these students’ musical journeys and we’re excited to see what they can achieve with the help of these new instruments.”
Music gear marketplace Reverb’s mission is to make the world a more musical place by making it easy and affordable for anyone to buy and sell musical instruments. The company’s Reverb Gives initiative is a direct extension of that goal, putting hundreds of musical instruments into the hands of youth who might not have had the opportunity to play music otherwise.
