The Music & Youth Initiative is pleased to announce that Dr. Emmett Price has joined the organization's board of directors

Boston MA, September 29, 2007 

Dr. Price is an Assistant Professor of Music and African American Studies at Northeastern University.

He is widely regarded as one of the nation's experts on bridging the generational divide. A well regarded
musician, educator and consultant; Emmett actively researches, lectures and writes about Black Music
of the United States with a focus on social, political, economic, cultural and religious analysis.  He is a
noted expert on African American Music and Culture, Hip Hop Culture and Youth Culture.

Eichhorn, Executive Director.  "His unique understanding of the many facets of how music can be a
successful vehicle in the development of young people, and his understanding of how to couple this
knowledge with creative teaching methodology, will be an invaluable asset to our organization"
