Music & Youth Initiative is pleased to announce the opening of the third Music Clubhouse

The Music & Youth Initiative, a nonprofit organization that sponsors Music Clubhouses for underserved urban youth, is p leased to announce the opening of the Blue Hill Music Clubhouse in partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston and the Berklee College of Music.
"We are thrilled to be opening our third Music Clubhouse and are very excited about working with both the Boys & Girls Clubs and Berklee to bring a much needed after school music program to the youth of Dorchester", said Gary Eichhorn, Executive Director of the Music & Youth Initiative.
"The Music Clubhouse will provide our Club members with a creative outlet to express themselves through music, to learn more about the various genres, and to connect to the Arts in a very meaningful and personal way", added Daphne Griffin, Executive Director of the Blue Hill Boys and Girls Club.
James McCoy, Director for Community and Governmental Affairs at Berklee, who is partnering with Music & Youth on three clubhouse projects added, "The Music Clubhouse at the Blue Hill Boys & Girls Club will serve as a model for community-based collaborations between grant-makers, institutions of higher education and local non-profit youth development agencies. Berklee is very proud to be a partner in this initiative."
The clubhouse will be offering music programs in guitar, keyboard, drums, vocals and recording. Members will also have opportunities to create and perform their music in the new state of the art Blue Hill Club facility located in Dorchester, MA.
