The Music & Youth Initiative Announces the Opening of the First Music Clubhouse

The Music & Youth Initiative, a nonprofit organization that sponsors Music Clubhouses for underserved urban youth, and the Merrimack Valley YMCA – Lawrence, MA Branch are pleased to announce the opening of the Lawrence Music Clubhouse.
The Lawrence Music Clubhouse will serve youth ages 10-18 from the Lawrence community. This after school music program will feature a variety of music lessons including guitar, keyboard, drums and vocals. Open studio time at the clubhouse will be available for Clubhouse members to practice, listen to music, and collaborate. The clubhouse will also have a recording studio where members can produce their own CD’s. The Music Clubhouse will also sponsor “open mic” nights to showcase performances by Clubhouse members for family, friends and the community.
“The Lawrence YMCA has historically been a key partner with the community in youth development” said Gary Eichhorn, Executive Director of the Music & Youth Initiative. “We look forward to a long and successful partnership in bringing a great after school music program to the young people in Lawrence.”
