Thanks to a partnership with Harmonix , the creators of Rock Band, each of our
Music Clubhouses is now equipped with Rock Band 2, as well as an XBox 360
and monitor. Thank you to Harmonix for their generous donations!
"Harmonix and the Music & Youth Initiative share the goal of using musical
expression to have a meaningful, positive impact on the lives of underserved
children", said Spencer Steere, Community Program Manager of Harmonix. "
We are very excited about the potential of this partnership."
Each of the Music Clubhouses now sponsors "Rock Band Fridays" where youth
have fun playing Rock Band.
Rock Band at the Lawrence Music Clubhouse
The experience at the Lawrence Music Clubhouse with Rock Band has been very exciting. In addition to attracting new members to the Music Clubhouse, a number of young people have used the Rock Band game as a transition to learning to play drums and learning to sing vocals. Rock Band has truly become a part of the curriculum!
