After-School Music Programs Receive $96K in Grants from Music & Youth

Henry - Ft Worth_Img sizeBoston MA, June 3, 2016 — The Music & Youth Initiative, an organization dedicated to creating accessible, sustainable, high-quality music programs, is pleased to announce $96,000 in grants to 11 Youth Development Partners in support of their “Music Clubhouse” programs this Spring. These organizations provide free music lessons to underserved youth in Massachusetts and Texas, with a focus on guitar, keyboard, drums, voice, and music recording technology. The Music & Youth grants also support youth leadership and video programs within the Music Clubhouses.

“These Youth Development Organizations are making a tremendous impact with teens,” says Gary Eichhorn, CEO of the Music & Youth Initiative. “Our continued collaboration helps expand the reach of the Music Clubhouse program, providing meaningful musical opportunities for youth who otherwise would not have access to music. It’s making a real difference, and we’re so proud of the musical and personal achievements of the teen participants.”

  • South Shore YMCA
  • Waltham Boys & Girls Club
  • West End House Boys & Girls Club
  • YMCA of Metro North
