The Music & Youth Initiative is pleased to announce the creation of an endowed scholarship

Boston, MA, October 23, 2007

The Music & Youth Initiative is pleased to announce that through the generosity of an anonymous donor, an endowed scholarship has been established for one high school age Music Clubhouse Member each year to attend the Berklee College of Music Five Week Summer Performance Program.

Once enrolled in this program, students will receive a fun, yet rigorous course of study that includes performance, theory and musicianship. Additionally,  scholarship recipients are showcased to the community, when the program concludes at the world-renowned Berklee Performance Center.

"This scholarship will give a talented Music Clubhouse member each year a chance to take their musical abilities to the next level at Berklee - a world class institution.  It will be motivational to every Clubhouse member", said Gary Eichhorn, Executive Director of the Music & Youth Initiative.

"Berklee is very proud to be working in partnership with the Music & Youth Initiative to support the artistic dreams and educational goals of young people who, otherwise, might not have such opportunities", added James McCoy, Director of Community and Governmental Affairs at Berklee College of Music.
